We understand how important it is to find the right location for your special event with a team that can offer you just what you are looking for in your day.  We  provide a very simple service here at Down House.  We can’t hold the official part of a wedding here as we have chosen not to take on a wedding licence but do offer a  space where you can create your own personalised ceremony as well as the general celebrations after the legal bit has been done.

We know that it can be hard to find a venue that offers you the intimacy of having a celebration at home.  Many people would like to have their special event in their own garden but don’t have the space.  When searching  for the right venue, you might find that you get swept up in a corporate machine, which can add to costs and risks losing the personal touch. 

We offer a quiet friendly space where you can design your event to suit you. We can recommend caterers, a florist, a marquee supplier, or a DJ if needed, or you can do it yourself. We have space for up to 50 guests for your ceremony, either outdoors under the pergola or under cover in our Long Barn. After this there is plenty of space to have a garden party, swimming or games for up to 100 guests. Your marquee can stand on our games lawn for larger receptions or on Jaspers Lawn for smaller numbers.
